Governors Park Homes for Sale

Video Tour of Governors Park, Chapel Hill, NC

Governors Park is one of the Governors community of neighborhoods in Chatham County with a Chapel Hill address. Governors Park has about 240 homes and is located adjacent to Governors Club and across the road from Governors Village and Governors Lake. Priced somewhere between Governors Village with prices in the upper 300′s and Governors lake in the 400,000′s and low 500000′s, Governors Park prices have been solidly in the 400,000′s for the past few years although in the past couple of months I have seen a couple of sales dip down into the upper 300,000′s.

Governors Park was developed in the late 1990′s and lots were initially sold to custom builders. The planned neighborhood concept was new at that time. Governors Park would have homes with big front porches, garages behind the homes, smaller lots, and acres of community parks with amenities.
The custom builders did OK  with sales, starting a new neighborhood with a new concept takes time, but the developer had expected a quicker turnover of lots. The custom builders were pushed out when in around 2001 the remainder of the lots were sold to MI homes, a production builder, who finished up the neighborhood and later went on to build Governors Lake across the street. As you can see from the video MI did a good job of blending the new homes in with the earlier phases.
