Please let me know if you have questions about Chapel Hill area neighborhoods. I know it is confusing that homes with a Chapel Hill address can be in Chatham County, Orange County and Durham County all with different tax rates and school systems.

Neighborhoods have Different Personalities

Do you know that every neighborhood has a different personalty? They do, and that’s often as important a factor in a home buying decision as the home itself.

It’s pretty easy to find all houses for sale on the internet but not so easy to find out about the neighborhoods.  I have had clients come to town in love with a home they saw on line and then be crushed because the neighborhood is not what they want at all.

So I decided to have this web site as a place for all of my area videos, hoping to show what the neighborhoods are really like. I want to help you have that information too, as well as the information about the homes for sale in the neighborhoods.

I have found that often when a client comes for a visit we get so excited about finally getting out and looking at homes after sometimes months of email discussions about the market, that it’s really tempting to not take a break, just grab a snack or drink and keep going all day long. Over the years I have learned that it is so important to stop, have lunch, coffee or an afternoon glass of wine and just go over what we have seen and get a fresh perspective. That’s why I called this web site RealEstateisHungryWork.com. During every tour we stop at a local spot and take that necessary break and refocus. My Background

I think real estate in my genes!  My whole family (and it’s a big family) is involved in real estate, building and development and it’s been a natural progression for me.  My earliest memories are of riding around “the job” in my fathers jeep. I started working for him selling lots and beach houses during the summers while I was in college and then when I moved to Chapel Hill in 1980 I became a home builder myself.

From 1980 to 1992  I built luxury homes in Chapel Hill and Durham. Since the early 90′s I’ve been helping buyers and sellers with their real estate needs as well as representing some of the areas best builders.
